Western Union has several divisions, with products such as person-to-person money transfer, money orders, business payments and commercial services. In 1866, Sibley ordered the engineers to develop a Western Union telegraph system of stock quotes in real time. Western Union provides consumers and businesses with fast, reliable and convenient ways to send and receive money around the world, to send payments and to purchase money orders. Western Union made so that the time in all of American civil services was the same. Sibley, the founder of Western Union, did not build a new telegraph lines, and persuaded the other players to join. American Telegraph Company, however, still had to buy it.
