In the Western Union in the 30s of the 20th century worked 14 thousand couriers delivering telegrams. The presence of Western Union Gold Card at the client greatly simplifies the process of further processing of money transfers of and reduces the operation time for the sending of money, as the "Gold Card" is a carrier of the personal information about the client. In the 30's of the twentieth century, Western Union has become the world's largest telegraph company. Each money transfer is protected with control number, that allows you to track and to ensure prompt payment of money specified by you person. In 2007 the company made 167.7 million transactions on money transfers between individuals and 404.6 million transactions between physical and legal persons. In October 1871 the company has implemented the world's first telegraph money order. After a century money transfers have become a major source of income for Western Union. Before transition to remittances Western Union company rendered services on sphere of cable communication. In 1849, Selden and Sibley, the founders of the future Western Union, created the New York State Printing Telegraph Company.
