Due to regulatory requirements and consumer demand in Germany and France, MoneyGram opened company stores in both countries. Money transfers via MoneyGram system can be used as by bank customers, and by people who do not have bank accounts. The company installed more than 23,000 new MoneyGram signs around the globe, making it easier for consumers to find MoneyGram agents. In 2011, a global network of agents of MoneyGram has grown up to 256 000 service points, thus its growth is 24% compared to the same period of the previous year. In the city of San Salvador representatives of MoneyGram and Citibank announced a new regional project, which will provide money transfer services in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. To 284 thousands of service points has grown global network of MoneyGram agent offices in the 2nd quarter of 2012 due to India, Spain and Africa, thus its growth was 16%. MoneyGram financial results were driven by money transfer business, which delivered more than 40 percent growth in transaction volume.
