On March 7, 2011, MoneyGram entered into a Recapitalization Agreement with THL, as the holder of all of the B Stock, and Goldman Sachs, as the holder of all of the B-1 Stock. The company installed more than 23,000 new MoneyGram signs around the globe, making it easier for consumers to find MoneyGram agents. Since going public two and a half years ago, MoneyGram has made great strides by pouring energy and resources into several critically important areas for business. In MoneyGram were added or converted new currencies in an additional 29 countries during the past year, providing consumers with a wide array of currency payout options. The Global Funds Transfer segment is the primary segment of MoneyGram, providing money transfer and bill payment services to consumers, who are often unbanked or underbanked. In March 2012, the company MoneyGram merged with the network of U.S. payment centers ZipZap.
