In the U.S., credit unions have a clear organizational structure. All credit unions belong to one or the other parent credit union (there are 35 of them in the U.S.). Credit unions encourage savings of citizens, setting compensation payments (interest) on savings and provide from these savings loans to their members. First Credit Union was savings unprofitable institution, or rather credit cooperative, providing services to its members. To reduce the risk of default on loans members of the credit union shall the joint guarantee. Consumer loan and reliable savings - these are the main goals, which mean "natural persons" having decided to unite in credit consumer cooperative. The value of credit unions is not limited to the role of the economic agent - they are an important element of the social structure and a factor of social stability and progress. In the UK, credit unions are a source of financing of people groups. This tool is not widely used. The specifics of credit unions and, in some sense, their uniqueness lies in the fact that they work not for profit and do not appropriate profit.
