Cooperation between credit unions, how they would not have been named, took place always, from the moment when the movement moved outside one credit union. Standards by which credit unions build their work do not coincide with the standards and regulations of consumer cooperation of the usual type. Credit unions are financial institutions, financial cooperatives of citizens, and in this capacity they are above all associations of people, not unification of capitals, which is typical, for example, for public companies. The right to use the services of the credit union have only its members. Credit unions encourage the proper use of shareholders savings, developing social programs (education, health, recreation, housing, etc.).
