The relationship of shareholders with credit union are not client-based, they are co-operative, based on different principles and standards, in particular, on the principles of the law of obligations. Initially, the target groups of credit unions were farmers (Raiffeisen), and now they include both individuals (credit unions), and organizations. Consumer loan and reliable savings - these are the main goals, which mean "natural persons" having decided to unite in credit consumer cooperative. Shareholders in corporate organizations are basic credit unions, besides the same union can be a shareholder of several corporate organizations. Today, the World Council of Credit Unions is represented as members four regional confederations and twelve national associations.
