Corporate credit unions are united on a cooperative basis in the Central Credit Union (US Central Credit Union). Credit unions encourage savings of citizens, setting compensation payments (interest) on savings and provide from these savings loans to their members. Since the early 80's started the process of consolidation of credit unions, leading to a decrease in their number with a simultaneous increase in the total number of members. Membership in the credit union forms responsible citizens and conscientious attitude to their obligations as a norm of behavior, identify the value of a decent man's reputation in the business turnover. Credit cooperatives and credit unions exist in many different forms. The main differences relate to the nature of the membership and the opening of a credit institution. Today, the World Council of Credit Unions is represented as members four regional confederations and twelve national associations.
